After a winter of reasonably mild weather it was time to do some weed clearing and general tidying up in the rose garden. Garden helpers gathered on Monday afternoon (25 March) and within a couple of hours quite a difference had been made.

As the weather (hopefully) improves the weeding will require to be done on a fairly regular basis. Another tidy and weeding will probably take place during April when the roses will also need some attention. Into May, it will be time to put down more bedding plants.

What has been particularly pleasing is that the garden has attracted many visitors over the past year and when the weather is good it is a wee haven for folk to come in have a seat and enjoy the tranquillity.  Part of the seating area is now being used as a reading corner. Let’s hope the weather in the coming months is as good as it was last summer and many more people can visit and appreciate the garden.
